2N SmartGate is a single-channel analog GSM gateway, which provides a number of services for a cost-efficient way of communication. This smart solution enables the user to save a lot on GSM call costs. It is intended for small and medium size companies or households.If connected to a PBX and a PC (LAN), SmartGate can be used for Voice, Data through GPRS, SMS and PC Fax transmission.

A strong emphasis has been put on sound quality, reliability and long lasting performance. SmartGate is equipped with both FXS and FXO interfaces, which gives the gateway a wide range of potential applications. It can be installed on a dedicated interface or connected in a DialThru way. The gateway can be installed on a PBX trunk line or on a PBX extension line. When the CallBack function is activated, the GSM gateway refuses to receive this incoming call. The GSM gateway starts calling to a defined extension. When the extension picks the call up, the gateway starts calling to the GSM (called party number = CLIP of the incoming call).

With SmartGate on a PBX extension line, the new feature ”Follow me” makes the user accessible any time and anywhere on the mobile phone to people who dial the user's fixed number assigned by the PBX. With this feature you are able to use all your PBX services via your mobile phone. SmartGate enables all LAN users to send and receive SMS with a 2N network application – the SMS server. The delivery status of any message can be obtained automatically.

The GPRS connection enables e-mail communication and Internet browsing. It is often used as a back-up Internet connection for small offices, or as a primary Internet connection on boats or in distant areas. There is a SMS sending in the gateway (see the green connector in the picture) allowing sending predefined SMS after activation by an external signal.

This analog GSM gateway can also be supplied from any 12V battery (e.g. 2N Energy Bank), which makes the device fully mobile.
